On FRI 2/10, BloomBars in DC hosts an eclectic mix of experimental & classical music, with “BOAT BURNING: Music for Amplified Guitar, Cello and Tape”, followed by THE COLUMBIA PLAYERS performing movements from string quartets by Beethoven (Op. 132) and Debussy (Op. 10).
Music starts 8pm with Boat Burning.
This performance is a benefit for LIVE IT LEARN IT, a DC non-profit sponsoring trips for students of inner-city public schools. http://www.liveitlearnit.org/

THE COLUMBIA PLAYERS, a DC-based classical string quartet playing everything from Beethoven to Jimi Hendrix, includes Mark Kapeluck (violin), Sara Boyce (violin), Jennifer Murray (viola) and David Rabin (cello).
BOAT BURNING – A mainstay of the Chapel Hill NC experimental/improv music scene since 2008, the Boat Burning collective is now based in DC. The current incarnation includes founder Andras Fekete (guitar, tape manipulation) and The Columbia Player’s David Rabin (cello).
